Hey, I am writing from India and I want to share my current project with you all. My objective has been to start gaming the colonial battles around in India. The greatest challenge for me has been to get miniatures all the way to my part of the world and that too on a budget.

Thus, after being inspired by a YouTube video about Napoleonic armies with Risk figures, I am doing the Colonial armies using Risk figures. I know the purists will cringe at the thought of it but my objective has been to get gaming soon and I'm tired of paper minis.

Here are some of the results. It's still a work in progress. Hope to share an AAR soon. Keep in mind, it's my first attempt at painting miniatures.

Regarding costs, I got around

240 Infantry, 72 Cavalry, 32 Artillery pieces for around 9 UK pounds. The scale is roughly 12 mm and the detailing is sufficient for the scale and my needs.

Not a bad start at all. A little creativity never hurt anyone.

Wonderful. Although I applaud professional-like painted soldiers, there is a lot to be said for doing what you enjoy. That's what we should be doing with this habby that we all love so much. Keep up the great work.

Ingenious! Do you have many/any fellow gamers around? Hopefully with 1.4 billion people in India you can find a few like-minded souls to enjoy your project together!
