I have reserved my room for the SYWA Convention 30 March to 1 April in South Bend, IN. It's a new motel for us, but within walking distance of our traditional stops--The Griffon for books and toys, and the Fiddler's Hearth for fish & chips. If you're thinking about it, hurry. Not many rooms left, they tell me. I would have reserved a room for Cold Wars (10-12 March, Valley Forge) but the Casino people tell me the room block is still tentative, and you can't actually reserve a room at the block rate. I'm so old I can remember when you could reserve a room at the previous year's convention. Are we still having troubles with the Minotaur in the casino labyrinth? |

I remember filling out the cards for next year when checking out at the Host. Good times! |

Robert fair warning. I brought twice as much stuff to Fallin and did a 1/3 of what I made before Covid. |

Robert. What is the new motel? I was looking for info but couldn't find it. |

Old news, Wackmole. I did fine at Cold Wars 2020 (? Just as the lockdowns were starting.) And I had to use multiple vehicles for the first post-lockdown SYWA convention. Everything sells at the right price. Just don't confuse having a flea market table with being a retailer. |

Thank you, Rebel. Seriously, guys, if you're within reach of South Bend and have any interest in horse and musket warfare, give this one serious consideration. It's a small con--usually a bit over 100 attendees--but always some good games, some interesting lectures, and since it's mostly one big room, you can rent a table, put out your stuff and go play a game. People will track you down and hand you money. Not how things are done at Lancaster or Valley Forge. |
