Apparently, Putin is deploying a number of Mig-31s with Killjoy ASMs to Belarus:

Seems like that missile is very aptly named.

On a somewhat related side note, Russia is also withdrawing a lot of its SAMs from Belarus and redeploying those to the Motherland, presumably to either protect it from Ukraine or NATO retaliation for its recent heavy bombardments of civilian areas by missiles, or perhaps for use again in the back-up, surface-to-surface bombardment mode.

Numerous IL-76 cargo aircraft have been observed working hard to make this redeployment happen in a rapid manner. IIRC, about 20 aircraft were observed conducting these ops, and moving 70+ launchers in this action.

It's not clear if this action is to protect against a perceived vulnerability, or if it is a proactive move telegraphing even more severe actions to come by Russian forces in the region.

Ukraine is paying a huge price, but the Russians only have so many resources left now. My guess is that they are getting reorganized to show defensive strength. Maybe we are getting a little closer to some sort of negotiations?
