I've read somewhere that most armoured vehicles in the Pacific did not have the big white stars used in Europe…..any thoughts/observations/advice would be most welcome!

I suspect they were not used – after all, in the Pacific it was pretty hard to mix up Allied and Japanese equipment

Yup. Spent a couple of hours on newsreel that I had no idea even existed – mostly no stars at all as far as I could see which is a fine excuse to avoid putting decals (I hate fiddling with them and always make a mess of it) on all my wife's new Water Buffaloes and Alligators. There's pics of her 28mm USMC company on FB groups – 'S.P.I.T. Wargames' and 'Pacific Adventures'. I've never managed to post pics on TMP I'm afraid.

Another advantage of not having them is that it eliminates a handy "bullseye" for the enemy gunners… ;-)

Zephyr1…..I have to play the Japanese, so I'm not sure that that's a good thing…..
