Well, either that or they're the only places on the planet with banking institutions which will except large Russian cash transactions, State or otherwise, no questions asked.

Aren't people embarrassed to publish unsourced speculation these days?

"It was reported today"- my eye.

Well, there are three logical choices for the veracity of the ultimate source – utter fantasy, Russian disinformation or an actual informant (personally I'd go with one or two). Either way there is probably a kernel of truth hidden in there that large quantities of Russian cash are sloshing around parts of Africa.

We will have to wait & see. Maybe he will have an "accident" … And Russia comes to its senses ?

Inch High Guy17 Nov 2022 8:52 a.m. PST

Surely there are better spots available to Putin. Look up the Central African Republic – ongoing civil war, one of the poorest countries, the unhealthiest country, the most underdeveloped country, etc.

Seems a place like Cuba might be a good place to be exiled to.

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa17 Nov 2022 8:59 a.m. PST

Only downside is that in the event of accident its looking increasingly likely we'll swap Putin's somewhat affected neo-nationalism for a true believer with popular backing because the Russia populace don't know or want to acknowledge that they've been a fed a fantasy of existential threat for the last couple of decades. At that point things could go downhill fast because literally all they have left is the nukes…

Wouldn't be a hoot after killing so many of his opponents if Putin accidentally fell out of a window. The nation will mourn our fallen leader.

Legion4 – I suspect that it is more likely that the accident will befall a body double. Follow up with a little cosmetic surgery and retire.

That is an option too … when you have body doubles. But he may need more than that to escape. However, I doubt even though a war criminal he will never pay for his crimes. At least not in this life.

Killing a lot of bad guys, no matter who does it works for me. Killing each other only makes it that much better …

Ghostrunner18 Nov 2022 10:08 a.m. PST

Given recent precedence, he's probably escaping thru the eighth floor window.

Maybe ?

Allegedly, Vladimir Putin has stashed away a big fortune nearly $15 USD billion in cash and gold in underground warehouses, which are protected by the ‘Wagner' group, Express reports.

I think they put the quotes on the wrong word. It should probably read:

"protected" by the Wagner group

He'll be lucky if a million is left by the time he actually leaves Russia.

Putin has a plan?! Who knew?

Cant really tell from the current fiasco.
