Well, there are three logical choices for the veracity of the ultimate source – utter fantasy, Russian disinformation or an actual informant (personally I'd go with one or two). Either way there is probably a kernel of truth hidden in there that large quantities of Russian cash are sloshing around parts of Africa. |

Surely there are better spots available to Putin. Look up the Central African Republic – ongoing civil war, one of the poorest countries, the unhealthiest country, the most underdeveloped country, etc. Seems a place like Cuba might be a good place to be exiled to. |

Only downside is that in the event of accident its looking increasingly likely we'll swap Putin's somewhat affected neo-nationalism for a true believer with popular backing because the Russia populace don't know or want to acknowledge that they've been a fed a fantasy of existential threat for the last couple of decades. At that point things could go downhill fast because literally all they have left is the nukes… |

I think they put the quotes on the wrong word. It should probably read: "protected" by the Wagner group He'll be lucky if a million is left by the time he actually leaves Russia. |
