Can anyone recommend good written resources for the Three Kingdoms period of Korea? I'm looking for reference books or similar – Google is proving less than helpful.

I have had a 3 Kingdoms army from Khurasan for many years, but lacking any uniform reference, they have never been painted.

Any information would be very useful, and much appreciated.

There are plenty of sites with paintings from the Koguryo (or Goguryeo) tombs – link is a good example, it includes the Anak No.2 tomb's mural of a 4th-century army on the march. The tomb paintings are almost the only visual evidence for colours.

There are several good histories of Korea for general background, and some of the Three Kingdoms histories are available in translation such as link but you'll struggle to find details of uniform or weapons (though the Paekche annals do mention one army with yellow banners).

Oh, and link is a reconstruction of uniforms of the 3K period from the War Memorial Museum in Seoul. The fancy guy on the right is intended to be Silla hwarang, the other two rankers of different states.

Gurkhan – thank you very much for your help. I will start printing off a few colour pages for reference for my painter.
