Which one would you like to travel with? |
Saber6 | 14 Nov 2022 10:08 a.m. PST |
Tricky question. All have thier benefits and drawbacks. 4th, 10th and 12th (Tom Baker, David Tenant and Peter Capaldi) would be my inital picks |
Hal Thinglum | 14 Nov 2022 11:50 a.m. PST |
There's only one Dr. Who, Dr. Tom Baker! |

Tom Baker, for sure. But I also really loved David Tennant as the Doctor. Eric |
Mollinary | 14 Nov 2022 2:17 p.m. PST |
William Hartnell, first, best, unparalleled! |
Jason O Mahony | 14 Nov 2022 2:19 p.m. PST |
Tom Baker is the man. After that Peter Capaldi and David Tenant. |
etotheipi | 14 Nov 2022 2:53 p.m. PST |
#1) Catherine Tate. DoctorDonna all the way. #2) David Tenant. Based on the concept that as Dr. Who, why couldn't he travel to the "alternate universes" in which David Tennant had a role. It's fare from the most outlandish thing the series has done… #3) Peter Davidson. Best safety record. Not that he'd win any OSHA awards; it's a relative measure. |
The H Man | 14 Nov 2022 3:00 p.m. PST |
Rowan Atkinson, as I like sitting on sofas. In the real world John Pertwee. "There's only one Dr. Who, Dr. Tom Baker!" As he's the 4th that makes no sense. It would be more appropriate to say Hartnell is the only one, as he was for a few years. Or Peter Cushing as he was in his universe. Try saying it while watching brain of morbious. Or the five doctors. Of course anything on TV after the 8th is just fan fiction. |
The H Man | 14 Nov 2022 3:04 p.m. PST |
"Best safety record" Tell that to Adric. That's probably the part up for grabs and all. Modern tat not doctor, Martha over Donna. And for red heads Liz over Donna. Ha she's 3rd and all, I'm on a roll. |
Eumelus | 14 Nov 2022 3:37 p.m. PST |
Isn't the answer basically dependent on which companion's knickers you'd like to get into? I mean, who knows how long it is between materializations, the Doctor is distracted and Tegan's getting bored, and it is a cruise ship after all… |

Anyone that brings me close to Amy Pond… or Clara. |
The H Man | 14 Nov 2022 3:59 p.m. PST |
I'd love to get close to Clara, but for other reasons. Polly's probably your best bet. |
Hey You | 14 Nov 2022 4:00 p.m. PST |
I would first like to know the average life expectancy (ALE) of each companion for each Doctor. Then I would like to know the ALE for the various extras that were in the Doctor's mists. All things considered, I would probably be safer not being in his/hers/theirs general vicinity. |
SpuriousMilius | 14 Nov 2022 4:00 p.m. PST |
My pick is the Doctor who never was: I think that Zoe Wannamaker would have been great in the role. |
The H Man | 14 Nov 2022 4:03 p.m. PST |
Can I cruise with the Daleks? You know, Jo Grant and all? Or is that, not all ;) |
Deucey | 14 Nov 2022 6:59 p.m. PST |
Favorite doesn't matter. Which one would you pick if you had to / got to travel in the Tardis. |
Parzival | 14 Nov 2022 7:47 p.m. PST |
Does it really matter? Whatever the appearance, there literally is only one Doctor. Personalities differ marginally, but he's still the same strange dude. Oh, alright. Matt Smith's portrayal. Because I like Matt Smith as an actor, and I liked his character. And fezzes are cool. |
The H Man | 14 Nov 2022 11:29 p.m. PST |
If we aren't picking on favourite, what other criteria do we use? There are several doctors. TV classic, modern tat (either extension of classic or ignored), Cushing, parodies. I assume TV classic and modern tat is the idea, though it's not stated. Actually, going by the title they just want a series (Tv, Cushing, other) as he's not (usually) called Dr Who in the show. |

Pertwee, Venusian Kung Fu. |
forrester | 15 Nov 2022 4:56 a.m. PST |
Have a look at how many companions ended up back home where they started from and unscathed after their exciting adventures. Particularly post 2005 where some of them have some very strange destinies. Enter that blue box at your peril! Jon Pertwee scored three out of three for companions back on their contemporary Earth safe and without wiped memories-though strictly speaking Liz Shaw didn't actually travel. And you've got those jolly exciting UNIT stories as a bonus. |
BillyNM | 15 Nov 2022 7:10 a.m. PST |
It would have to Tom Baker if only for the chance to meet Leela. |

The H Man | 15 Nov 2022 3:43 p.m. PST |
I hope your a fan of Janis Thorne. 'cause that's all you'll be getting. |
miniMo | 15 Nov 2022 5:20 p.m. PST |
For most entertaining journeys: 4th Doctor 2nd choice, 2nd Doctor. I've picked up several of the resurrected story arcs, Troughton is quite good! |
The H Man | 18 Nov 2022 2:45 p.m. PST |
Interesting picks. Out side of the modern tat, they are the two who would be bouncing off the walls. Sure to drive one (as) nuts after a short while. "No, I don't want another bleeding jelly Baby!" "Will you cut out that infernal racket and put the recorder away!" And this only hours into the trip. Entertaining to watch, yes, from a great distance. |

Either Sylvester or Jodie. The most dangerous time would have been with The War Doctor, I expect. |
