I'm currently running a multi-player Shiloh game and I'm wondering what exactly did the Confederates know (or not know) about Lew Wallace's detached division. They seemed to make no effort to block the Snake Creek bridge (which would have prevented or significantly delayed Wallace's arrival by cutting the Hamburg-Savannah Rd) so I'm guessing they were altogether unaware of his presence.

Given they also did not have the nice complete area maps we wargamers have of the battlefield, did they even know the Snake Creek bridge existed and that, by blocking it, they would also cut off a potential retreat route for Grant's army?
