I hate to write this because those figures are beautifully painted but Spanish documentary evidence from the Archivo Historico Nacional suggests that the Zaragoza Regiment like many other line regiments never received their white 1808 uniforms. According to La Infantería de Línea Española en 1808 by Luis Sorando Muzas the first and second battalons of the Zaragoza regiment were wearing their 1802 uniform until Aug 1808 when they were re-equipped with a British uniform originally destined for troops in Canada. As was the case with a number of other units such as some of the volunteer battalions raised in Asturias. |

@MightyOwl Thanks for the information. This kind of thing is part of the joys of Napoleonics for me, there's always some strange wrinkle and the Spanish uniforms are a complex subject. John |
