Making a first foray into the 45 rising in Sharp Practice shortly, so thought I might share the figures ready so far on my blog, lots of pictures and a little narrative here ; link |

I have a large collection of Front Rank figures for this period…looks like I will be starting yet another project! |

Excellent work! I've never played these rules though. Let us know how well they work. |

First game report is in drafts now so with you next week. I think it can work really well but we got it very wrong first time. |

Great! I'm a big fan of the 1745 rebellion as a wargame setting -- hundreds of figures in my collection. The problem is finding people who want to play! It's pretty obscure in the US. And fantasy gaming dominates where I live now. I've been playing with a variant on The Sword & the Flame rules that I designed myself -- this works very well for this period and this level of battle. |

I crafted a variant for the Jacobite rebellions using The Sword & the Flame as a base set -- I've played it for years and it flows very well. "The Sword in the Heather". |

Interesting piper909 one for the back pocket if Sharp Practice doesnt work out. I do like Sword and Flame. |

Sure. PM me and let me know an email address where I can send an attachment(s) sometime if you'd like a copy of my rules (PDF format), a short set just enumerating the necessary changes from TS&TF, unit organization, and a set of reference charts (based on the TS&TF Colonial originals). What I need to do now is contact Lori Broom / Sergeants 3 and see about getting these published as an authorized variant. My next year's project now that I've house moved! |
