First fruits from my holiday to Northumberland:

Norham Castle stands on the Scottish/English border of the River Tweed and was fought over or disputed right through the medieval, Wars of the Roses and Tudor period. Enjoy!

Cool! Hadn't heard of it.

It was the one the Scots tended to either hit first or completely avoid:

The castles built on the Scottish border were a great way of defending Northumberland, you either had to take them, not an easy task, or leave them in the rear where they could interfere with supplies for the invaders.

Either way you couldn't Ig-Norham!

Herkybird, that is witty!
