I took part in a lovely RCW gaming day on Saturday 30th October.
We played at Battlefield Hobbies on Daventry. The shop was a great host. Thanks to them and do visit them.

Simon organised the day jolly well.
The link show the results and ,more interestingly the armies that were used.
Rules were the standard Square Bashing rules.

For those interested in a worm's eye view(?):-
I used a White army with 7 reservist battalions , 6 regular battalions, 1 professional battalion, 3 armoured cars, some MGs and guns too.
I started the game by losing the initiative and thus becoming the defender.
My "loss" rolls went very well. This meant I retained about 2/3 of the army on table.
I also did quite well on running the battle clock down.
My luck continued with holding an objective whilst being battered from flank and front. Mgs are a great deterrent.
My armoured cars also did good job of holding the line.
I did lots of "holding on by my fingertips".
Great games with great opponents.
I have awarded my army the badge of "The entrenching tool 1st class".

It was a lovely day, but I fear the end of the revolution. My Blosheviks lost very heavily in my two games.

Did it matter? Not a jot! Great to see Russian Civil War on the tables and everybody getting along so well.

Roll on the next one.
