Looking at their pic of the sprue more closely reveals something interesting that may shed some light on releases yet to come.
All the models on the sprue are unique. So each of the 3 zouave strips are different.
This is in contrast to the union/confederate infantry sprue, which has identical stips.
So, why make the zouaves different? Well, maybe they aren't…
A look a Perry's acw boxed sets tells the story. They originally had a single box of infantry useable for both sides. Eventually, as the range proved popular, they released two seperate and different boxes, one for each side.
I suspect Warlord plans the same thing. The figures have proved popular enough for a zouaves, cavalry and skirmishers sprue, so its popular enough for two new sprues. A new infantry sprue for each army, complete with unique strips.
Obviously it was cheaper to initially use identical strips for production, buy the new sprue proves they can do it.
I suspect the new infantry sprue may skip the commanders and cannons in favour of several types of infantry.
The artillery would most likely get their own sprue, with commanders being left for metal or resin, or maybe a sprue of their own.
I think an artillery sprue likely, if the new infantry sprues are made. It would allow for several guns, hopefully with more accuracy (pardon the pun) and lots of different crew. It could also have extras like shot piles and maybe exploded cannon and casualties, what have you.
Just a few thoughts, but looking at the new sprue and the fact it was made at all, suggests I may be on the right track.
