Gents,

Figured this was the more timely board (as opposed to late ancients or middle dark ages) to post this "copy" of the historical battle.

Here is the link: link

Thanks for your time and comments,
Chris

I did not see Uthred? Very interesting to me as I had not heard of this battle until I read Warlord. Thanks it helped me a good deal. H

This also is a great source:

It also makes a pretty good though small convention game. Just 4 players, but a good get people interested.

Gents,

Thanks for taking the time to read and offer a comment. Appreciate it.

Yeah, sorry about leaving out Uthred . . . Again, I was just using the historical battle and accounts as a kind of template. I was not trying to accurately reconstruct the battle.

Joe, thanks for the link and recommendation. If I may, how do feel the rules address the "shieldwall" slog?

Cheers and thanks again,

Chris

Here are some of my thoughts…

This is from Keith McNelly's excellent gaming site.

The photos are from a Brunanburh game.

Joe,

Thanks for weighing in again. Certainly food for thought . . .

No argument on the excellence of KM's blog. His ancient battle reports are spectacular. He certainly sets the bar high!

Cheers,
Chris
