14 Bore---I think you can go back to your original registration and click the link for Registration, then click link to modify existing reservation. That should allow you to cancel your current game, then select another. |

Is there a published list of Vendors attending Fall In 2022? I could not find one on-line at the HMGS site. |

Seems rather small this time. Also, sad to see Old Glory in such a manner. Better than nothing I suppose. |

I am bummed – actually had a reservation at the Host, and they overbooked and cancelled it just yesterday. They said I can get the same rate next door at the Tru. Anyone else have this happen? |
WarWizard | 30 Oct 2022 7:52 p.m. PST |
PianoMan – how did u find out it was cancelled? Did they call u? |

WarWizard et al, Something similar just happened to me. I made two reservations online with Wyndham, one for spouse 'n me and one for another couple. Per usual, I called the Wyndham Lancaster Host on the 29th to confirm there were no reservations problems (this is a habit with me, with the Host, since a similar problem there, years ago) and the Host simply had no record of the second reservation. I had my confirmation email from wyndhamhotels&resorts and read the two confirmation numbers to the desk clerk at the Host. He found one reservation immediately but had no record of the 2nd one. Given my confirmation email was from Wyndham he recommended I give them a call to see if they could clarify things or find the 2nd reservation, so I then called the Wyndham Rewards number, and the fellow there said the 2nd reservation had been cancelled by the Host. I called the Host back, telling them this, and they said if they'd cancelled the reservation they'd be able to see it (albeit as cancelled). But they simply had no record of its existence. The Host's night manager told me this was an ongoing problem with reservations made online with Wyndham and not directly with the Host i.e. some reservations made online through Wyndham just weren't being transmitted to the Host. He gave as example a guest who didn't show up and who was charged by the Host for the first night's stay (pretty normal). The guest forwarded the Host her email from Wyndham recording her cancellation. This, the night manager said, was the first the Host heard of it. He said the Host, of course, refunded the 1st night's stay. Don't mean to run on, but I suspect this – lack of comms from Wyndham to Host – is the culprit because this is exactly what happened to a friend who, for Hcon22, made a Host reservation because the Lancaster Marriot was full. A room at the Marriot opened up so he went online and cancelled his Host reservation – and what happened in the night manager's example above, happened to him. Thing is, when I talked again to Wyndham their response was "Oh no – it wasn't us, it was the Host! You need to talk to them…" So I'm less inclined to blame the Host in my case, rather than Wyndham, but there's clearly a potential reservations problem unless one goes directly to the Host… |

I may have made my reservations through Wyndham as well, on August 8th for two rooms. They called me last Tuesday and said I could call the Tru by Hilton next door. Kinda bummed by it. |

HMGS posted just the other day that the hotel was canceling rooms as they over booked. |
TSD101 | 01 Nov 2022 4:10 p.m. PST |
They didn't even have the decency to find another hotel at a comparable price/quality? Everyone who got bumped should absolutely leave a 1 star review. |
Rustycop Retired 2019 | 01 Nov 2022 6:47 p.m. PST |
Piano Man sorry you got bumped. I have stayed at the TRU and it was quite nice. You should have no issues there. I believe they do serve breakfast in the morning. Hope you have a great show. |

I'd be livid if the Host bumped me for someone buying 3 nights instead of whatever. NOT interested in a nearby hotel having to drive over and look for parking, etc. Being able to walk back to the room and unload stuff so I don't have to shlep out to Outer Mongolia to put it in the car is a blessing (I have Plantar Fascitis so too much walking hurts me). |
Wolfhag | 02 Nov 2022 5:14 p.m. PST |
I'll be there Thursday PM, Friday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday morning. I won't be running a game but I will be doing demos of my game: TMP link and I am looking for players to help with the final design and rules writing. Wolfhag |
Piano Man | 02 Nov 2022 7:08 p.m. PST |
I will be there, I will be running a demo of a skirmish game, Carnevale on Friday for some friends (not that I am an expert on the rules but we will have fun!). Stop by and say hi – It may be the only game set in Venice! |
