Some images of the recent Battle of Trafalgar" staged by members of the "Hull & East Riding Wargames Club".

All the vessels that took part in the battle, including non-combat frigates, were on the table. This meant over 70 1:1200 scale models from Langton Miniatures took part.

The battle was a very messy and brutal encounter with 22 ships being crippled (14 Franco-Spanish and 8 British). At the end both sides tried to claim victory, pretty usual for wargamers I would say!!

Looks very pretty, nice work on the rigging, and sea effect bases, whoever did that!

Epic. How many Feet/meters of table was that?

Now that's a naval battle.

VERY cool.

I'd also love to know the table size and the rules used please with extra rigging on top. :)

Nothing like a sea battle on a Napoleonic scale

Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated.

The rules used were "Trafalgar" from Warhammer Historical but with a great deal of simplification due to the size of game and the inexperience of some players.

The game table measured 20 foot by 6 foot with the Franco-Spanish fleet deplyed along about 16 foot of the length of the table. This allowed for the look of that fleet being spread out across a great distance and gave room for the British to cut the line in several places.

The game lasted about 6 hours in length and pretty much went as the real battle but with more British losses. The whole day was very entertaining for all involved and hopefully will encourage club members who don't normally play this type of game to have another go.

Cheers

WOW!!!

That is an amazing collection of superbly finished vessels.

I'd love to play in, or even just watch a game like that, with such superbly painted and rigged models.

Well done!
