Perhaps some of you know the plates of the uniform researcher J. Hoynck van Papendrecht – if not you will surely surprised by the artistic view combined with a detailed depiction of the uniforms.

Just go to link and enjoy the eleven plates referring to our period of 1799 to 1815.

These are really nice. A few are very well known, but here they are shown in higher definition than I am used to. Watercolour at its best.

Beware the Red Lancers image though. Fringed epaulettes on both shoulders and red over white lance pennons. Both need to be reversed.

But he surely is a skilled artist. Nice find, thanks
