…Comparison Complete Edition

"…A frequent question on the various wargaming sites is simple – "which rules should I play?". The aim of this article is designed to assist players with answering this question. To do that, we will take a look at several rulesets, briefly discussing how they work and what they are best at. This isn't a review – I have no plans of saying "this is best rules". All the rules I cover are ones I have played, enjoyed and wish to detail for more people to get stuck in. So, let's get started!…"

I have to confess the reviews or whatever were of no value to me they, seemed to be mechanism obsessed not giving even basics details.

For example Skirmish Sangin imply's s very small areas if the snipers are off table. Typically snipers are used at 450m+ So the table covers only 450m or less or the author is lost in Hollywood and massively over estimates many snipers.

Force on Force's description makes again no real sence. Danger zones for artillery are typically 200m+ to 450m if the support is a long way away and smart munitions are not in use. So no with ground scale I have no clue as to the scale of the game Company, battalion etc.

Really perhaps you need to look more carefully at what you describe. I did not see the link as helpful, but that of course is just a personal opinion.

Most of these rules covered are skirmish level with just a squad or two per side. For moderns, I've played all kinds, and I prefer more simple/basic rules at a company level or so…
