Hello everyone,

Where to find the number of men per unit of the British army at the Battle of Tamai ?

Thank you

HI. I highly recommend Go Strong in the Desert by Mike Snook, LCOL Ret. It is a treasure trove of narrative, uniforms and OOBs for the Suakin campaign. I got mine from On Military Matters for $48. USD

Complete OB information for Tamai and every other action in the Sudan from Kashgil to the death of the Khalifa are included in both volumes of the "Mahdist Wars Source Books," available here: link

OB's for single campaigns/battles are offered through The Preziosi Collection at TVAG: link

Cheers!

And what great Mahdist books those are! I owned the original one. Then jumped right in when the two volume set was announced. If you're are a fan of the period they are must haves!

Thanks

John

Fully agree those three books are the go to source for war gamers with interest in the Sudan. Well worth the price.

I concur and highly recommend The Mahdist Wars Source Books! In addition I've been purchasing OOB's from multiple wars and campaigns throughout history for decades from the Preziosi collection, excellent work.
Cheers,
JB
