I'm finally getting into 6mm for the first time and I'm wondering what's out there other than GHQ (which are ok, but not great) for US based options?

Thanks

Not much I'm afraid. Ron Heroics offers a vast 6mm line, including heavy weapons, and with the Pound's drop it should be fairly cheap to get them from England.

Adler (also British) has some nice US infantry

The Ros & Heroics are true 6mm figures but not as well detailed as GHQ's oversized figures.

Sadly, in the US your only option is GHQ.

The new H&R sculpts for moderns are great but UK. Ditto for Baccus.

If you want variety you need to go overseas. The dollar is strong aga the pound now, so it is a good time to buy.

I've been using these for my Cold War US vs Russia. I would have gone WW2 If I didn't have so many already!

From Magister Militum. US infantry link:

They are mostly prone. Never get broken, come with their own bases and you only have to paint half of the figure!

Here's the link to the American company. Save a few pennies and get lots of tiny goodness!

Pics galore!

Also, the GHQ infantry are more like 10mm scale than 6mm.

Heroics and Ros are your best bet for true, nice looking 6mm minis, but you can only get them from the UK.

If you're only talking buying from within the US then go with GHQ. They're bigger and maybe more expensive, I haven't bought more in years since I have too much, but they are sturdier than CnC/Legion 4 (many ankles break). Depending on your rule set you probably could get away with a pack of each, I think they come 60/pack.

Personally, I like the GHQ infantry. I used GHQ infantry for my WWII American infantry and like it fine.

Although the figures are a tad oversize the detail and sturdiness are good. I based mine for Mein Panzer but they can be used for other rules sets as well.

Here are a few pictures of my painted WWII Americans by GHQ. For the .30 Cal MG Teams and 81mm Mortar Teams I used the old GHQ weapons teams which are closer to true 1/285th scale.
