Did you do anything special to get the spackle to adhere?

How did you achieve the texture on the spackle?

Looks good to me.

It was a mix of glue baking soda and clear medium. After putting it on with a brush I stippled it randomly and it gave the texture as well as a nice 'hard candy shell' to the super smooth plastic.
