Latest set of rules to come under the spotlight are Pete Berry's 1:1 skirmish rules Once Upon A Time In The West Country link

Blast from the past! Agree the name alone sells the rule set

It's a long time since I played these ECW skirmish rules. As I recall the key thing was timing your musketry right as it took 2 or 3 moves to reload.

I thoroughly enjoyed these rules when I played them some years ago. Sadly my "group" dropped them in pursuit of the "new, shiny" Next Best Thing.

I joined in on what was supposed to be a "club" ECW project and bought the rules. Individual pikemen running around a skirmish game was a bridge too far for me. This was another club project that didn't go anywhere, so I sold everything off.
