Does anyone else make Victorian/Edwardian/Great War flying battleships, cruisers, etc? There are a lot of the Brigade designs that I just don't like. Not looking for Sky Galleons of Mars-scale gunboats.

Looking forsomething smaller than Leviathans, as well.

Technically, even Brigade doesn't make Aeronefs any more. grin Same models, different game system now – Imperial Skies.

The official Aeronef minis from Wessex Games (publisher of Aeronef) are not currently available, according to their website.

Well, not aeronefs specifically, just flying warahips.

Honestly, I think Brigade is it, unless you go the 3D printing route.

emckinney04 Sep 2022 12:26 p.m. PST

I haven't even found decent 3D models.

Technically, both.

Thus far, Tony et al haven't deleted the Aeronef support files. Just relabeled the main sale page.

Sorry if that got a bit astray. Have you looked at ZN ships? Not currently manufactured, but some are still around. Not shps int the air, mind you.

Are ZN just the Airships vs. Aliens game?

If so, not enough models and really not the right look.

Does anyone carry Imperial Skies on the U.S. side of the Pond? I don't want to deal with the complexities of international trade.

The rules or the miniatures?

From what I hear, ordering from Brigade is easy …

We carried the books for a while, so you might ask your local FLGS to see if they can order. I know Scale Creep has 'em, but Mark was in the hospital recently and I don't know how soon he'll be handling orders.

Also, available in a PDF from Wargames Vault.

Sorry abo9ut the ZN's not working; only other thing I can think of is Irregular's ships, but those are basically surface ships with a bottom added to make airships.

Not a bad description of Leviathans, but even more so.

I think you could do as well with Panzerschiffe's ore-dreadnoughts and dreadnoughts with some simple tweeks.

PS Ah, for the days when the mighty TMP hordes of picky members would have pages of posts pointing out the L in FLGS is Local, so local IS redundant.

Memories..

Irregular's ships look great. Too bad there are only two fleets. Still …

Any idea how their size compares to Brigade?

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP06 Sep 2022 4:22 p.m. PST

Thanks gentlemen, I shall contact Scale Creep forthwith.

Sorry, as to comparison, I've only seen some of the spaceships.

Toyed with the idea of ordering from the UK, but never followed up.

Note that Brigade also sells the bits that lend national character to each ship (turrets, cranes, stacks, etc.), so there is quite a bit of scratchbuilding potential in this genre.
