I was at my local book store and the still had a June copy of Wargames Illustrated that came with the Free Epic Battles Waterloo Prussian Militia., so I picked it up. I noticed when I got it home that the stands were not included. A few years ago when I purchased the copy that had the free Epic Battles ACW frame, it came with stands. I was wondering if any one here picked copies with the free Epic Battles Waterloo frames and if the stands were included? Speaking of it, any one in the US who picked up the free French heavy cavalry frame or Prussian infantry frame and would care to trade for the ACW frame, let me know. Thanks. I look forward to your replies. |

I just picked up the same from my local B&N and expereinced the same- missing the bases. The other copy on the shelf was missing even the frame of figs! My copy was not opened so they did not "drop out". I noticed in the editorial column that due to postage rates, subscribers outside of the UK will not be getting those freebee frames anymore. Bummer. |

The local book store was B&N where I always purchased my Wargames Illustrated issues in the past. |

marmont1814: Allen, please have a look in Issue 414, June 2022, inside cover under "Contents", * "Apologies to our European subscribers-postage costs continue to make it impossible for us to supply 'free frames" TO SUBSCRIBERS OUTSIDE OF THE UK." Living in the USA, the subscription cost has been cost prohibitive for me so I have been willing to pay the over $10 USD for the issues that interest me. The free frames often pushed me over the edge in deciding on making the purchase of the issue magazine numbered issue in front of me. In reality, I get more useful and targeted information off the internet anyway. So since I DID buy that issue at my local Barnes and Noble (latest for us here in the USA where I am at) in a store, I posted the source above for anyone else who may have also presumed the reply "sounded like an excuse" So it came straight, in print, from the Editor.(Dan Faulconbridge= Owner and Editor). Because the USA is outside of the UK, it must apply to us here as well. |
