Hi, newbie question. What is the correct way to paint the French Old Guard Grenadiers for Waterloo? I have seen them with White pants and black boots, all white pants, with blue pants with black boots and blue pants no boots. Thanks for the advice. |

I think what you are identifying as 'black boots' are actually their knee gaiters. Black boots per se were always worn. The general opinion is, I believe, that the Old Guard at Waterloo wore long blue campaign trousers. By 1815, gaiters and white breeches were retained for parades. |
