Hi, newbie question. What is the correct way to paint the French Old Guard Grenadiers for Waterloo? I have seen them with White pants and black boots, all white pants, with blue pants with black boots and blue pants no boots. Thanks for the advice.

I think what you are identifying as 'black boots' are actually their knee gaiters. Black boots per se were always worn. The general opinion is, I believe, that the Old Guard at Waterloo wore long blue campaign trousers. By 1815, gaiters and white breeches were retained for parades.

Yeah, it seems they were blue in the 100 days campaign.
