Ok I note that if you score a hit you can then try for an additional bounce-through hit, but which unit suffers that hit? Example: the bombardment target was an infantry brigade in checkerboard formation with an unlimbered artillery company behind all within 12" of the initial target. Artillery firing were Mediums (Russian) so 8 guns out of 12 may fire bounce-through(I presume licornes like true howitzers cannot fire bounce-through) so 8x1x7=56.Throw results in hit but in which of the 7 ranks suffers the hit? |

If possibly a few different units randomly pick 1 with a die roll. But in line with firing is the main factor. You know I am not sure if licornes can't cause bounce through. In elevation they are not indirect fire exactly as a howitzer. |

We just eye-balled it and picked the unit that was most directly in line with the gun model, IIRC. |

Historically, Russian 'unicorns' could and did fire ball ammunition, unlike the shorter barreled howitzers of other nations. Yermolov at Eylau come to mind. |
