The base rules are free but what new game rules are in the paid advanced set? The table of contents is available for free but no details of how these impact gameplay. I don't want a description of the rules and am not interested in set up or objective stuff. Can someone summarise how the advanced rules might change the game without going into details?

Don't have the advanced set as the basic set plays just fine – mind you, mostly for the grandkids and my buddies who are not hard core sci-fi gamers

You get more choice of actions, 7 additional for example
Overwatch, hunker down, defensive stance to name a few.

You get side missions to play alongside the regular ones, commas points to perform actions to effect the game, random events to ruin your day, extra rules for terrain to spice up play.

It's worth it imho. You can grab it on Patreon along with the points calculator, and only need to do the basic for a month to get these.

Yeah, plus you can use the online army creator that will print out your units with all their stats on a sheet. Very nice to have!

Thanks

John
