I just watched a western set in early 1900's called, "Ride the High Country." In one scene towards the end, there is an exchange of rifle fire. One of the shooters has a semi auto rifle -- shooting as fast as he can pull the trigger. Never a closeup. Were there semi auto rifles at that time? Not lever or bolt action. Just pulling the trigger and shooting. No reference to movie in Internet Movie Firearms Data Base

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

Never noticed that in the big shootout that I've watched many times. Great film.

Steve thanks for that link. I tried to track down the database, and did a search but nothing showed up.

That flick is based on a Donald Hamilton book.
