What would you say is the best city, in either state, for historical tabletop gaming?

Lots of brick n mortars, active clubs, etc.

There is a very active gaming club centered in Raleigh – Triangle Simulations Society.

I would third the two above suggestions. A good friend who moved to the area has had a great experience with them and has gamed more in the last year than in the 5 previously.
