My dad was on the F-15 design team at McDonnell Douglas in St Louis from 1968-1971. I remember going to work with him one time and seeing a giant room full of drafting tables…

I don't expect the F-15 to be around as long as the B-52, but it has a lot of years let. There's just a lot of jobs it will do really well.

My dad worked in the F-15 SPO at WPAFB. I don't know exactly what he did, but his office was in a vault.
