It looks like my group will be playing some Cyberpunk style games in the near future using heroic 28mm figures.

Can anyone recommend some modern or sci fi game maps or mats? I'm looking for office complex, warehouse, alley, subway, factory sort of stuff.

Would it be worthwhile to make my own using .pdfs and having them printed as posters?

I seem to recall similar maps being sold when the super hero and star wars clicky figures were big but not sure what's available now.

Take a look at cigarbox . They have some nice mats that could fit the bill. Several sizes and styles.

Cigarbox would be my recommendation as well.

For Cyberpunk, I wouldn't overlook Battle Systems. Check out the Cyberpunk Core Set.

Loke Battlemaps are excellent. Their Giant Book of scifi battle maps and Giant book of Cyberpunk battle maps give you dozens of different map setups. The books are A3, which gives an A2 spread when laid flat. They are also modular so you can link them together (mostly)
