Avalon Hill/Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro has just announced the re-release of Heroscape, their currently OOP modular miniatures game system. New tiles, new figures are certain… anything else, who knows?
I've only learned about this via a YouTube video "tour" of their booth at GenCon. The video only has a brief view of the tiles and figs in a display case, with no other details.
So, maybe I'm glad I never dumped my collection of the original stuff. YouTube link

At the very least, those of you who liked the modular, slide-together hex tiles, it looks like you'll be able to get ‘em again.

(For those unfamiliar with this system, it is not connected to HeroQuest, despite the similar name, though I can see room for some bleed-through. Again, who knows?)

We still have all our Heroscape. The rule are light weight but make for a fun game for all ages. Setting up the game is a bear.

I thought this was released months ago, or was that a different game?

The hexes are good for terrain under a Cigarbox mat too

79thPA, were you thinking of Heroquest, instead?

That's it! Thank you.

If the hexes from the new edition aren't compatible with the old ones I will have a reason to be mad. I don't care enough to actually get mad, but it would be a reason to get mad. I think I have three base sets of the original plus a couple expansion deals, who doesn't need hexes?

The rules are great for kids. Playable at a young age but still interesting. Entertaining for grown-ups too. Certainly I own better grown-up rules, but I also own *worse* grown up rules. Ugh.

I look forward to seeing what they do.
