I have to self-report myself, as Senator Cruz does in the video: my miniatures proudly carry all three flags. I guess I am a little extremist.

The great moment is when Cruz slams his BOOT on the podium, with the Gonzales "Come and take It" flag on the back.

Sadly, there are Americans today who feel that being Patriotic and loving the US make you an extremist and white supremist.

FBI needs a thorough house cleaning.

According to the left I'm a rightwing extremist. However, I am a card-carrying Choctaw so if they come after me I'll just keep them at bay with the word "racist." Two can play the woke game.

So, if Ted Cruz could not be bothered to have context read, it makes him just as big a fool. And a dangerous one too.

If you watch the video of Cruz and Wray, the FBI does *not* consider Antifa or BLM banners to be associated with violent extremism. And Wray could only plead ignorance -- "Senator, I'm not aware…"

The word 'militia' and a vague reference to miniatures make this topic appropriate for the hobby forums do they?

Jonathan Haidt on the roots of the morals of the left and right. Just in case anyone wants to get on a high horse and denounce how wrong the other side is.

And I think it is an appropriate topic, it's the kind of thing that could lead to a dust up if people don't pull their collective heads out of their nether regions. (Myself included.) Heck, it probably already has in some parts of the world.

Not sure why a Moderator decided to clip a link to a US Congressional Hearing…

Silurian, political topics have been all the rage lately.

Perhaps they simply have a different definition of what patriotism and loving the US looks like.

Radical leftists are so far out there that centrists are now considered to be "extreme".

Hello pot, meet kettle.

It is astounding that there are NO hearings and very little punishment or outrage over the 574 riots prior to the 2020 election that caused the deaths of some people, injured more than 2,000 police officers, where molotov cocktails were repeatedly thrown at buildings and law enforcement personnel, where businesses were torched, and more than $2 USD BILLION in damage was done to private property.

That should tell you ALL you need to know about the current situation.

Considering the flags are not infrequently seen on the wargames table, a discussion seems worthwhile.

I like threads like this, they are very informative to me as to I should avoid.

Mserafin,

You can be right. There can be different ways to be patriotic. But that doesn't mean you can label or condemn someone for how they display their patriotism.

On a wargaming slant(!) – I am painting a Continental army at the moment, and wondered if the Gadsden flag would be ok to use for anyone other than the Culpepper minutemen, Navy or Marines, none of the units I am painting!

Its so hard finding good flags for my Yanks!!!

doc mcb08 Aug 2022 9:47 a.m. PST

I had the Flag Dude make me two more Gadsden flags, on blue and green fields. We know so little about flags in use, I cheerfully assign such to whoever needs them.

Cool, I may emulate your example!
