I have endless discussions with myself over this. I think the rules example can be interpreted both ways? When using the table to compare scores. For example say with one side on 11 and the other on 20. Is the difference between the two five steps so 5x5 25point on or off the basic 50% change or is it 9 steps so 9x5=45??

Its +/- 45%. I dont have the rules here but you count up or down the table in steps according to the situation but the actual victory% calculation is made by comparing the values.

9 steps is how I aways played it. The Ace can start jumping up to big number and if it's only a jump of a couple steps it's wasted.
Battle results goes up winning by hundreds, wouldn't come into play if counting steps.
