Was able to see this film today.

This is a prequal to the Admiral film.

The film was highly embellished, and included dubious details, such as the Japanese using large breechloading cannon that were suspended by ropes on their ships. Another bad choice was a made-up part with Wakizaka and Kato Yoshiaki clashing over command of the fleet.

With that said, it does a great job of showing the tactics used on both sides. It also has some cool scenes of the Turtle boats in action. One terrific part about the film is that it has none of that exaggerated "Crouching Tiger" type scenes.

The scenes of the Turtle boats reminded me of a Viking Berserker fighting his way through an enemy force, taking blows and cuts, yet plowing on through the enemy. It was so awesome!

There is even some scenes dealing with the Righteous Armies, though these scenes are limited.

Overall, a good film with good action, but the historical details have been adjusted for the sake of telling a story.

The title is "Hansan: Rising Dragon" if you look for it.

Thanks for the info. Now I have to try to get my eyes on it.
