"And again there are some new units for our French Guard Corps from the Napoleonic Wars. The ranks are slowly filling up and I guess we'll be done with the guard by the end of the year. Of course there will be a parade of all units. As usual, the units shown here are 1/72 scale figures from very different manufacturers…" UT

These are fantastic. I have a very small number of the Revell Chasseurs a Cheval but did not rate them highly. I liked the colpack shape and especially the truly "light" horses. However I thought the figures lacked the detail of Italeri, even if the rig was more representative of campaign dress. Well now I take it all back. I wish mine looked as good. Art Minaturen Dragoons of the Guard is new to me and certainly not in the current catalogue. How about that trumpeter? I did have some Hat Grenadiers a Cheval and tried to lower the crown of the bearskin and tilt it back much more. I gave up and sent them on to James, as I had enough on with the Duty Squadron light cavalry. But again the painting here is exquisite. It takes the Germans to do this in 1/72 for sure. Great find and inspiring! |

I hate these pics because they make me want to go up a few scales! But great work and impressive to view. |

Or down a few scales. But I have no choice. I am, by nature, a 28mm person, but must now work in 20mm.. or 1/72 scale for Waterloo Remodelled. Every single one of my 28mm figures has now gone to a "better 'ole* and left my dark attic. But this level of painting is beyond me. But so worth showing as aspirational. |
