More advice please. Is it worth putting antennas on armoured vehicles to be used in wargames? I wonder if the constant handling will break them off especially if the classic stretched sprue technique is used. Or is there another, more robust method? |

Depending on scale softer plastic works. On my 6mm when I feel like doing it I use toothbrush bristles. On larger vehicles I like to use those plastic clothes tag line (the one that dangles loose, goes through the material), or a cheap paintbrush bristle. Hard plastic or metal ones get wrecked on mine. |

Interesting ideas. I should have said that I am looking at 20mm scale. |

I have seen paintbrush bristle used and it worked very well because it was so flexible. This is bristle from a paintbrush for painting doors and windows so it is quite long and usually black -so no painting needed – and strong. |

Large paint brush bristles are the way to go. Drill a tiny pilot hole a couple mm deep and glue in with super glue |

Nylon fishing line or thread will work too. |

I use the large paint brush nylon bristles. Get the black bristles. You can cut them to length and have plenty to work with! They are flexible and easily replaceable. |

Get a parts brush. It's round and has heavy black bristles. I got one 40 years ago and it's still full of bristles for antennas on my HO scale vehicles. A tiny pilot hole, a tiny drop of superglue on the bristle and an even tinier drop of styrene glue on the plastic model and you can pick up the model by the bristle when it's dry. They never break and they are super cheap. I don't trim them until they are on the model and the glue is dry so I get the exact length I want. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

Found one of these at my local Daiso in Australia, cost AUD$15 iirc. Perfect thickness for 15mm and above. Rounded plastic bristles that cut well, be careful as I've found bristles on otheer brooms to be less than ideal. link |

I make my aerials out of brass rod. Seems to last OK. |
