Looking for large scale, period specific rules. Wanting to use 10mm figures.

Agree with F & F – we have used it, like it

After playing 8-10 or so rules, I settled on Field of Battle 3. I helped playtest them and really like them for the MAW.

Fire and Fury variant…definitely.

Another one you might consider is "Gone To See The Elephant" if you dont like Fire and Fury system – Patrick did a good job with it The Virtual Armchair General link

Available in PDF and has a lot of decent resources some of which are free downloads – including link

Note there is also a good book on the Mexican Solider further down on the page

Another vote for Field of Battle 3. Excellent set of rules. Our holy grail set!

Thanks

There is the rule set called Santa Anna that is specific for the Mexican-American War.

I've always had a good battle with Santa Anna Rules.

My armies for the Mexican American War are 10mm (almost all from Bill Moreno's exquisite So Far From God range): link

I've opted to go with Field of Battle 3. It has mechanisms to capture differences in troop quality and command. I'm sure other rules work for other games but FOB is what I find to best handle what I think is important for the MAW.

Santa Anna Rules are good but as I recall they are geared towards individual basing and the mechanism for stragglers will require bookkeeping or counters if your are using 10mm multi-based figures.

I'll always recommend Chapultepec. My groups favorite hands down!
