We re-fought the famous Battle of Manzikert using L' Art de la Guerre rules on an expanded board. Nikephoros, the Byzantine Emperor decided he was going to deal with the Turk problem once and for all, and committed overwhelming resources to the effort. They met in the middle of what is now Turkey (spoiler alert), and the end result was his capture, their sacred standard defiled, most of the professional Byzantine army mauled. link enjoy |

One of my favorite eras of history! Thanks for the great report. The Byzantine World War by Nick Holmes is a good read and has a new take on the campaign and battle. |
