Just placed a piece on my Blog FORWARD BOYS! about my approach to playing Altar of Freedom with 3d printed troops. Have a look please and let me know what you what think about the approach.

Nicely done! The pictures at arm's length look good.

Reminds me of cloth pin soldiers. Very nice.

Did you make the STL files yourself?

Rusty Balls07 Jul 2022 9:18 a.m. PST

Yes, I created all of the files for these using Tinkercad. I have a couple of different versions that I have used for various games like Blucher. I have been working on a slightly larger version with the 4 "regiments" each separated. This lets you easily form lines, March columns, squares and massed columns.

It's fun to play around with and at any time I can whip up a new army!

I was meaning to download that program. Thank you for reminding me.

Rusty Balls07 Jul 2022 11:29 a.m. PST

Actually, there is no program to download. You will need to create an account on Tinkercad.com but the actual "app" runs off the cloud/web. Have to say, for as basic as it is I have really created some cool stuff. If I actually had a full 3d modeling software and knew how to use it, I would be very dangerous!
