What are people's views on best range for the 11th century Normans from roughly Hastings to First Crusade? I am especially interested in who people think has the best cavalry/knights.

I just noticed Museum Miniatures has a newer Z range of sculpts, which have received good reviews for their Sumerians, so I wondered if anyone has seen these and can comment.

I have only seen a few of the Z range Indians and they are nice.
I have Normans from OG, Donnington, Khurasan and Two Dragons. If Museum had been available at the time, I would have gone with them.
Shame the spearmen are rather static as the rest of the range look very good – I may yet buy a few to plug some gaps.

I've heard the Splintered Light Norman range is good but I haven't seen them 'in the lead':

I have seen Splintered Lights range. Lovely stuff!

The OG15s Normans are some of their better models. I have seen the Splintered Light ones and the figure poses are a bit off to me. The Baueda and Khurasan mounted do not mix well (to my eye) with OG15s but the foot mix just fine.

All of my mounted knights are OG15s and all of my command are OG15s except one which is the Essex Norman mounted command. The archers, Red Spearmen and Black spearmen are a mix of OG15s, Essex and Khurasan. The crossbow and Marionite archers are all OG15s.

Nice, Berthier2!
FoG lost me after V2. How does V3 play?

I have no Normans from the Z-Range, but their Greeks and Macedons are splendid, with clear casts and next to no flash. You get what they show you on the website.

FOG V3 plays much faster with a lot of nuanced changes in the interactions.

Khurasan Normans are excellent for armies in Italy and Sicily.
