Inspired by Extra Crispy's list of Napoleonics rules, and our inability to figure out how many are played--or were played, but for how long, I ask "What rules do you play om your regular venue (home or club) which you never see played at conventions? And why don't you put one on there yourself?" Probably two polls here. |

Rules that I don't see played normally. Hail Caesar which my Friday game group plays, but I rarely see otherwise. Cruel Seas which had its flash in the pan, but seems to have passed. I'm hoping to see a revival at our local one day con in November. Limeys and Slimeys, but I did run one in 25mmyesterday at our monthly game day. I'm sure that there are a few others, but that is what comes to mind. |

Battling Big'uns – rules link was posted here on TMP. I made a map, handmade minis out of wood dowels and paint. Made some wooden houses, cannon ball stands, treasure chests, and jars of rum. It's a semi-coop race for a group of pirates across a Lilliputian island. I even made a huge quick reference sheet to post on an easel. No one played. |

Don't see much Napoleon's Battles played at cons or in my gaming group. |

Played in recent years but not seen at conventions CLS3 Wessencraft Napoleonic Army Corps Level Game |

The entire Command and Colours suite, anything by Neil Thomas or any of the Portable Wargame variants. Tbh, outside of those we mainly play homegrown stuff. |

I've seen C&C run, I ran a Portable Wargame 19th Century game at Salute last year and we are running a Neil Thomas game at Warfare this year. But I agree, they aren't that common. Mike |

What rules do you play om your regular venue (home or club) which you never see played at conventions? Any of the Polemos rules. The air warfare set Lacquered Coffins. The rules that Martin Rapier mentioned. WW2 Spearhead. Any Don Featherstone rules. Horse, Foot and Guns. Firefight. Rogue Trader. Nuts! 5 Men at Kursk. Two-Hour Wargames Dungeoncrawl. Five Leagues… And why don't you put one on there yourself?" As a primarily solo gamer, it doesn't naturally occur to me to put on games for other people! But maybe I should give it a go. |

Should have added Napoleon's Battles. My problem is hatchback space--and a shortage of suitably visual castings. Might try something in 54mm once I've worked through hauling the surplus castings to the flea market. |

"Brigade and Batteries" a free set of rules our club has adopted. For brigade level we play AOE. |

I play Mein Panzer which is a WWII set of rules for individual vehicles and squads and teams of infantry. This game does not seem to be that popular here on TMP or on other venues that I have checked. I do think they are a great set of WWII rules and hit the sweet spot for complexity vs ease of play. I have ran a fair number of games of Mein Panzer over the years and lots of people have played when I have done my demo games at the FLAGS here in the greater Phoenix area. I will be doing a solo Mein Panzer AAR here in the future to illustrate some of the games concepts as well as providing some eye candy. |
