I've actually been to Montgomery and seen the ruins. No plaque or person, including our B & B host, mentioned it was an ECW battle area. We did meet some Battle of Sedgemore reenactors in the pub that evening.

There is a small info plaque on the Offa's Dyke path adjacent to the battlefield but that's about it.
