I don't know how to look for a Korean War page, but the weaponry was essentially an extesion of WWII on the groung. More and better M26 Pershings (M46?); Chaffee M24 light tanks; T-34's; a 3.5 inch "Bazooka" etc.

My dad's father died that day here in the US; also my parents' wedding anniversary. And I, at 13, was again to young to figt!

Cannot blame you. It is in the "Modern Wars" section, even though it started before I was even conceived, actually they ceased fire as I was being born.

Anything after WWII is a modern War I guess. I feel so much younger now!

While Pershings were used, the M4A3E8 Shermans were better suited to the mountainous terrain.

I was in grade school at the time. When I was later in the USAF many of the NCOs around me and under me were veterans of Korea. There is a member of our church who won two silver stars in Korea.

Deadhead, they ceased fire two months before I was born. We're almost brothers!

I served 22 months in the ROK, '84-'85, with two tours on the DMZ. I saw some of the places where the war was fought. And we must remember the war is still not over only a truce. I studied the war before I got there and still afterwards.

As far as US Tanks in the Korean War. As pointed out, the M24s were some of the first battle tanks there. But were really too light to take on the Norks T-34/85s. The M26s were a much better match. When they arrived later. But had some mechanical, etc. problems. And yes the US M4A3E8 were more in number and proved to be effective vs. the T34-85. The North also had a small number of SU-76s.
