I've seen illustrations of painted/highly decorated horse armor used by Italians and Burgundians. Is there any evidence that this was done in the WOR?

I've asked this question before. As far as I am aware there is no evidence for the use of horse armour in the WOTR. Though I stand willing to be corrected!

Have to say my total fund of knowledge on the subject comes from Christopher Gravett and Graham Turner's Osprey series on WoR

I am currently writing my second book and I too have been unable to find any reference to horse armour in England.
This either means there were none OR it means they were standard and therefore not commented upon.

I was in the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds a few weeks ago and I seem to recall reading that there are only four known horse armours for this period in the world. That might be indicative.
