Really enjoying how the Sharp Practice Sudan variant is working in this setting and I've been busy making themed game aids and desert terrain. There's a long blog post that goes into more detail on how they were made which you can find here Themed markers for the Sudan

I've never liked the way sabot bases can appear like raised platforms and so did my usual chamfering of the edges to have them blend into the game mat. I also made up individually marked leader bases.

Keeping the other game aids in the same theme I used spare shields and weapons to make markers to record the Mahdist shock and fervour:
