sadly Rudi Geudens passed away last year. I know he had some of Tony Bath's documentation for Hyboria (the campaign diaries, gazettes, guides, etc.) which he did, at one point, have on display per an agreement with Tony Bath and had started to transcribe them onto his site but never got passed a few pages. Does anyone know where his archive went?

That would be something to read through.

The SoA booklet on the campaign is an interesting read, and it would be great to have all the columns from Battle/Mil Mod all gathered together in one place. But the complete campaign diaries….I hope they made it into somewhere other than the bin.

It's the kind of thing that a performance artist would have been paid to produce…and that archives would clamour for!

Mr. Bath wrote a multipart series for Battle/Military Modeling covering the entire Hyborian Campaign. Unfortunately there were only hints about the Gazette, diaries, notes, etc.

I once asked Mr. Geudens if, as an experiment, he would send a photo copy of an issue of the Gazette so I could try to type/transcribe it for him. He said that the originals were printed with a ditto machine, were barely readable and would not be readable at all if duplicated.

I have Tony Bath's Guide to Hyboria, and will publish this in due course. I was just looking to see if I could find any more to include in the book

Big Red, if you ever get the opportunity, try colored transparency sheets over such paper. Usually yellow will make the pale blue lettering more visible and possible to copy or scan. (I spent a lot of time in pre-computer offices. There were tricks only a few of us new remember.)

Wackmole9,

That's the one from Battle/Military Modeling. Loved the series and it left me wanting to know more.

I'd forgotten that Tony Bath did an article for White Dwarf!

mghPond thanks for posting that link. I hope someone is able to locate and copy the issues of the Shadizar Herald. Phil Barker participated in Tony's campaign and he or his wife may have the issues. From what was published in his setting up a campaign book there was mention of articles posted by participants and other items that did not make it into the magazine articles or the book on Tony's campaign that was published several years ago.

I now have copies of the Shadizar and will publish something in due course. Currently working on another posthumous book by Paddy Griffith

Hi! I'm Rudi Geudens' son. My dad promised you all on this forum that he would publish Tony Bath's original Hyborian documents on his website. Unfortunately he never came round to it.
I came across the original manuscripts earlier this week when cleaning up and I thought it fit to keep my dad's promise for him.
The link below takes you to the first part: "A History of Hyboria – Vol.1" by Tony Bath. Enjoy!
