Ran a small In the Stans game yesterday at Saga Games in Frederick, Maryland. In the Stans is the modern mod of So Convenient for Hewing. A few photos as the AAR follow --- 15mm figures used.

A National Army platoon has been tasked with searching a village for weapons. Only light opposition is expected.
What was encountered was an IED (detected, not triggered) and a Muffintop squad equivalent. Three troopers were killed in the action. The Muffintops disengaged.

Photo 6 – At the National Army trooper advance, they detect an IED just before the crossroads.

Photo 7 – A sniper wounds the Lieutenant

Photo 8 – As "A" squad maneuvers to the right, a MG opens open. Two troopers drop, and "A" squad breaks to the rear.

Photo 8 – "C" squad opens fire to suppress the MG

Photo 10 – View from the MG position, "A" squad to left, "C" squad in center, and "B" squad to the right

Photo 11 – "A" squad maneuvers to flank the MG; their fire knocks out the MG, and the Muffintops begin to withdraw.

Photo 12 – As "B" squad rushes the village, but the Muffintops have disengaged to fight another day.

A pleasant afternoon's game. The next game is tentatively planned for the third weekend in August; again at Saga Games in Frederick, Maryland. We take a break from store gaming in July for Historicon. There will be two of So Convenient for Hewing games at Historicon; one Friday evening and the other Saturday morning. Hope to see you there.

I remember your posts from, what, 3 years ago. Is this the same rules you used then?

Good morning,

Yes, substantially the same. Published for Dark Age gaming as So Convenient for Hewing.

Three modifications for the modern version:

1) In the modern rules, I treat senior leaders the same as other stands with regard to taking hits.

2) The weapon used (see the Weapon Data Sheet above) controls the number of shooting dice used.

3) If shooting, the spotting distance is doubled.

The rules are available from; search by title.
