Bravo! Nice work on the table and miniatures, and the scenario looks like fun! |

Jim, Looks like a great game. Will the scenarios work with any SciFi skirmish rules? |

The table layout is due to Ali at Iliada Game Studio, link He's produced the terrain and vehicles etc, because he's gifted like that (and he painted them and the figures.) The figures are cpmodels.co.uk I just dream up scenarios, he's an artist and it shows :-) |

I always say that the scenarios should work with any SF skirmish rules. Certainly I've fought Caldoom games using my other rule set Hell and Uncivil Disorder because I wanted a scenario to a easy play multiplayer club game. Without being pompous, the rules you use ought to be able to allow figures to react, panic or whathaveyou, but seriously, if you're playing solo or with mates you know, most players will put in enough roleplaying to ensure the rules work well :-) |

Jim, Thanks, my brain has just about all the rule mechanics it can handle. And yes, much of my gaming is solo. |

I'm trying to write the campaign guides so they can be done solo (but also with opponents) and when I use rule terms, I try to put in explanations so people can easily convert to their own rules So for example, when you have an encounter there is Opposition strength. The rules explain it as The first number will be how many there are in the opposition compared to your force.
The second number will be the level of armament. It's the dice they would (on average) roll under Hell by Starlight. Dice Firer d4 Green troops d6 Normal troops and hardwired green troops d8 Veteran troops, hardwired normal and greens with ESA d10 Hardwired veterans, normal with ESA, and automatic systems d12 Veterans with ESA ESA is Enhanced Sensory Array So an opponent listed as 2/d6 is twice your strength but will roll (on average) a d6 when shooting. It's difficult in this sort of thing to not use some rules related terms, but I've tried to provide a translation :-) |
