Does anyone know if the scale of the space marines are the newer, larger size marines or the older 28-30mm scale consistent with forgeworld's scale?

I can only say what I've seen in comparison photos. The Mk6 look 1-2 mm taller than the prior sets.

Bigger, yes. But not so different that they can't be used together.

That was a useful video, thanks!

I Wonder if GW arnt making these middle sizes to try to convert more people to Super marines.

The back pack looks the same though.

That's the real tell, armour dimensions. People can be tall or skinny, but a make of shoulder pad or back pack or helmet should be the same.

Thanks for posting. I have craploads of the marines from the earlier editions and FW Horus Heresy marines in resin from years ago which I have been storing to paint someday. I was hoping the size difference wouldn't be to noticeable …

Come on guys… it's GW! Need I say more?

I've got the box set in the mail. I'll try to post something on the minis or the rules next weekend.

Anyone received their pre-orders (from GW or elsewhere) yet? They are showing as "in stock" at several places – including on Amazon.

Regarding older FW Heresy marines- I've used Renedra and Proxie Models' bases to raise up my older assembled marines. And I've filled the torso joins to make the minis I'm currently putting together.

Joedog, I got the Army box & a couple of Contrast paint in s timely manner. One thing I'm mildly perturbed about is GW launched the the 2.0 HH game with Forgeworld being out of stock of 50(!) product codes for the Heresy product line.

That's just under 50% of the products from the Heresy Line being out of stock when you launch the 2.0 line. Genius GW.

I'm still waiting on plastic tanks to come out too. Plastic Landraiders, Predators & Sicarans. My army has come to a halt until GW fixes their stock issue and releases the new tanks.

I am disappointed that the marines are not sculpted "properly" for plastic SMs – i.e. with a leg unit, and a torso (the way that they were in the RTB-01 set, and have been from 3rd ed up to when they were replaced by the not-really-marines).

I think that would have made it easier to make them fit with older SMs (not the RTB01s, of course, but certainly with the SMs from the last two HH Boxed games).

I've mostly been using the beaky heads, and the arms/guns.

The HH Rhino was a bit of a disappointment in that you can't build it out in some of the ways that you could with the classic Rhino kit (was hoping it would be more like that classic kit). It is essentially the Mk3 model with a few changes to the sprues.

Another thing that seems odd to me is that standard Tactical Squads – bunch of "riflemen" with bolters, a Sgt, a Hvy and/or a Spcl – appear to be a thing of the past. Just "riflemen".

I had more hope for this than for any Warhammer rules-set since 4th edition 40k arrived. Sigh.
